Were there anymore important people of the American Revolution?
Yes there were more important people of the American Revolution. They were Bendict Arnold, The Jews, The Negroes, and Colonial Tyes. Some of them were on the British side. Some of them were on America’s side. Let’s see how each one was important.
Bendict Arnold used to be on the Patriot side. When he was a Patriot, he was a major official. He did a lot of actions that helped the Continental Army, such as the capture of Ticonderga. Then, another official claimed that these actions were because of him, not Arnold. Because of this, nobody appreciated him. One day, Arnold met a loyalist lady. Her name was Margeret “Peggy” Shippen. They fell in love and got married. Arnold started getting angry at the army for not giving him a chance to fight nor appreciate him for his actions. Shippen noticed this, so she convinced him to become a Loyalist and help the British win. So Arnold listened and became a Loyalist and a fraud Patriot. Each time he learned about what the Patriot plans were, he told it to the Loyalists. That way, Arnold can help the British win. Eventually, The Continental Army found out about Arnold’s new secret. In 1781, the war ended with the Peace Treaty of Paris. America had won. 10 years later, Arnold and his family moved to London. 10 years later after that, he died at the age of 60, which is pretty young.
The Jews were in America too before and during the American Revolution. They also wanted rights and had to struggle for them. The Jews had taken the Patriot side during the Revolution. They saved the Revolution by helping St. Eustatius into a major arms center. That is really helpful during war.
The Negroes had mostly joined the British, while the small leftover ones joined the Patriots. If you don’t know who they are, they were the black people. Some were slaves while few were free. The reason why some Negroes joined the British side was because they wanted to get their freedom. The leftover blacks were forced onto the Patriot side. One black was a very loyal, hardworking, and nice fighter that he was nicknamed Colonial Tyes. He wasn’t a colonial at all.
